The workshop which took place in Abuja at the aftermath of the field work in Kano is aimed to develop a comprehensive Theory of Change for RCCE programming, outlining the expected pathways to impact and outcomes. The process involved:
- Participatory stakeholder consultation, guided by Silva and Lee's (2017) practical guidance.
- Identification of advocacy and community engagement strategies.
- Implementation of mass media campaigns.
- Increased awareness and knowledge among communities, leading to:
- Better-informed communities.
- Increased acceptance and willingness to engage with vaccination programs.
- Higher vaccine uptake, resulting in herd immunity.
- Reduced burden of vaccine-preventable diseases.
The workshop outcomes will inform the design and implementation of RCCE programs in Ethiopia and Nigeria, aligning with the IFRC/Red Cross societies' goals.
