...

The workshop which took place in Abuja at the aftermath of the field work in Kano is aimed to develop a comprehensive Theory of Change for RCCE programming, outlining the expected pathways to impact and outcomes. The process involved:

  1. Participatory stakeholder consultation, guided by Silva and Lee's (2017) practical guidance.
  2. Identification of advocacy and community engagement strategies.
  3. Implementation of mass media campaigns.
  4. Increased awareness and knowledge among communities, leading to:
    • Better-informed communities.
    • Increased acceptance and willingness to engage with vaccination programs.
    • Higher vaccine uptake, resulting in herd immunity.
    • Reduced burden of vaccine-preventable diseases.

The workshop outcomes will inform the design and implementation of RCCE programs in Ethiopia and Nigeria, aligning with the IFRC/Red Cross societies' goals.
