Nur Alkali Development Initiative

Welcome to Nur Alkali Development Initiative, An NGO aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged members of the society.

About NADI

The NurAlkali Development Initiative is a voluntary non-profit ,charity organization established under the Laws of Nigeria with the aim of improving the lives of the under privileged members of the society. The organisation was founded in 2014 and is named after the late Prof. Nur Alkali, a man who dedicated his life to the service of humanity.

He believed that the true riches one can have in life is the investment made in developing people. This is what we stand for, hence, our motto: Improving lives and adding value. Helping people and making a difference is our priority. This we do through developing education, health, skill acquisition and welfare.

NADI Welfare

The NurAlkali Development Initiative is built on an inspiring legacy of a man who was known to have A Generous Hand That Reached Out To Infinity. NADI welfare aims to keep this legacy alive and extend a helping hand to those in need. Prof. Muhammad Nur Alkali was a man who believed in lifting a person in need out of any difficulty to be able to stand on their own two feet in order to surge on and not relapse into the same ominous situation.

NADI Welfare approaches problems in their individual uniqueness. Every individual’s situation is identified, studied and approached in its own individual way, applying solutions that best ease the immediate burden of the individual.

The welfare benefits are mainly in the form of basic necessities such as food, clothing and financial assistance. It is our hope to build network of individuals that will come together for the sole purpose of helping those in need in their times of need. To reduce the burden of suffering on those who have no one to turn to in times of desperation and need.

NADI Skill Acquisition

The NurAlkali Development Initiative is involved in the development of human resources which is a key aspect of the organization through its skill acquisition programme. It is to the society’s advantage that a great number of talents exist giving rise to an alternative source of livelihood to “white- collar” jobs. The programme is tasked with making contact with idle youth, aged, disabled and internally displaced persons selected by a sub- committee appointed and approved by the board of the organization. In the first six months of 2016, NADI has trained 52 internally displaced women in Borno and intends to do more.

NADI Education

Centres on providing education to underprivileged children, orphans and Internally Displaced Children. As a chapter in this organization, it was created with the aim of continuing Prof. Muhammad Nur Alkali’s practice of sponsoring orphans and the underprivileged to schools and giving them an opportunity for a better future.

NADI will sponsor underprivileged, internally displaced and orphaned children between the ages of five to fifteen to good schools within their communities. It will set educational programmes in areas where Internally Displaced Persons are most prevalent in homes and camps.
